About Evgeny
Dr. Evgeny Kataev studied Chemistry at MSU and graduated in 2003. During his studies, he was a visiting researcher in the group of Prof. Aaron L. Odom► at Michigan State University. He completed his PhD in 2006, a joint program between the University of Texas at Austin and MSU under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan L. Sessler► and Yuri A. Ustynyuk. In 2006/2007 he was an INTAS postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Kay Severin► (EPFL, Lausanne). After working as a researcher in 2007/2008 at MSU, he joined the group of Prof. Burkhard König► at the University of Regensburg as a Humboldt postdoctoral fellow. In fall 2011, he started as an assistant (junior) professor at the Chemnitz University of Technology. From 2017 to 2019, he worked asan associate (außerplanmäßiger) Professor at TUC. Between 2020 and 2025, he was a Heisenberg Fellow at FAU. Since 2025, he has been an apl. Professor at FAU.
